Auto speed control configuration

Postby spinner » Tue Sep 17, 2013 8:48 pm

Hi,

In the advanced configuration in BETA 4 there is Cruise Speed, Minimum Ground Speed and then Automatic Throttle Control is an optional tick box, if I don’t check the “Enable auto-throttle” check box does that mean the auto speed control is used instead as presumably specifying a set cruise throttle setting would interfere with the aim of the auto speed control which from my understanding is to keep the same speed going irrespective of the head wind the aircraft may be facing.

Thanks,
Tim.

Hi tim,

Disabling this option will leave you in manual throttle.

Auto throttle looks at the target altitude and not cruise speed. In v0.10 it also looks at speed, trying to avoid minimum speed (esp when flying headwinds). I like it but icebear finds the throttle too jumpy now, leading to more roll oscillation. So it might change again after more tests.
