Hi,

Wondering if it would be possible to use the GluonPilot (or any autopilot) with these type of control surfaces?

As far as I can see, the servos/mixing would just need to be set as elevons?

Thanks,
josh.

I guess so, I think making this wing is harder than finding the right mixing mode :-)

hmm, I haven't built the frame yet, but of course I guess the control surfaces will behave differently from elevons.

How would I go about design and implementing a new mixing mode (different pitch/roll ratios etc?) in the code? And what does it involve?

thanks.

You would need to add a new mixing mode to this code:

As an alternative you could send me a description of what you want :-)

haha, sounds good!

well, I'm not sure of the flight characteristics just yet. It should be similar to the elevon (delta) mix but maybe the roll will be affected more than the pitch...

also, is the motor ever used to control pitch?

thanks.

Pitch is controlled using the elevator, altitude is controlled using pitch+motor.
