Tom, thanks for the feedback on the PI&D values. I have re-read the wiki and so will try various values.
Mitch, thanks for your warnings on the servos. Although they are just some old bench ones I have I have updated the code to monitor the servo output values via the Gluonconfig program instead of sending the signals to the servos.
Once I get the feel for how the various PID values affect the outputs then I will switch to the using the speed controllers and test the outputs on the bench setup.
