Xbee Pro 2.4ghz

Postby HappyBee » Mon Mar 07, 2011 6:40 pm

Hi,

I wanted to move the XbeePRO module who where on my mikrokopter ( at 57600 bds)
to the quad I am trying to build whith the Gulon pilot.

I tough it would be easy. because it was already working on the mikrokopter.

So did modification on the sparkfun xbee board . ( no problem to short the diode )
I just changed the baud rate to 115200.

But it didn't work at all.
on the X-CTU utility everything seems normal both module communicate whi good RSSI.

But when used with the gluon pilot .I receive erroneous messages on the console on start-up like the boaud rate should not be good?

Has anybody an idea or already tested the gluon with 2.4 xbeepro ( so not the 2.5 version ).

Thanks
HappyBee

I've used it on both versions of the XBee modules and both worked fine.

Could you be a bit more specific about what you see on the gluonconfig console? (please uncheck "hide parsed messages")

Are both XBee modules configured to accept 115200 baud?

HI, tom thanks to reply so fast

I don't know what could happens . I did double check that the baud rates were 115200 both.

I bought these modules at sparkfun who are a little bit different than yours :

here is the result of the transmition test .

Could you make sure there is some distance between the 2 XBee modules? If they are too close to eachother, the signal saturates. You can start by putting it in another room.

Another possibility is that the baudrates are not exactly the same. Are both configured to be 115200 baud and not a number that looks like it?

BTW, nice quad, it looks familiar :)

I just found out the Remzibi OSD will work with 115200 Baud! I guess I will not need to modify lines 114 and 116 then. Simply run a jumper from GPS TX out to OSD. I will give this a try soon.
I still want to buy your extension board, it will be easier with less wires everywhere!
I have gluonpilot v1.0n, I think I can adapt it somehow yes?
